Private Wealth & Disputes
The firm is holding on to its identity as a “private client powerhouse”. This is underscored by Withers appointing private client disputes lawyer Paul Hewitt as its new Chair in London. Hewitt’s background, including leading major trust cases such as representing the late Nizam of Hyderabad in a £35 million international dispute, shows Withers’ commitment to high-stakes trust, estates and family disputes for ultra-high-net-worth clients. The firm has also grown its litigation capabilities. For example, it has hired a team of disputes lawyers in Singapore led by a former Morgan Lewis partner to serve clients’ contentious needs globally.

Art & Luxury Assets
Withers is staking a claim as a go-to firm for art law and luxury asset matters. In 2025, it launched a dedicated art advisory practice in New York, hiring former Sotheby’s Americas chair Mari-Claudia Jiménez as a partner to lead it. Jiménez now co-heads the firm’s global art practice alongside a London partner, advising collectors, galleries and auction houses. By November 2025, Withers added veteran art lawyer Frank Lord, a PhD art historian, and an ex-Christie’s specialist to that team.
